Tajikistan. Dushanbe.

2008-10-27 | Askar Isabekov

In Almaty and at all everywhere Mynahs are very similar one to another. I never tried to distinguish these birds, I think it's unsuccessfully. I always have been wanted to watch uncommon coloring Mynah. Even though partial albino bird. Some days ago driving on Dushanbe river's coast road I saw sitting on the concrete fence Mynah which looking lighter than common birds. Today I was going to be on that place and I took binocular and camera. Light Mynah with two common coloring birds was in same place on the river. Birds were very wild and when I paid attention to them Mynahs flew out to other side of the river and sat on poplars. Light Mynah was looked some less than other birds; it has very light wings well visible on flight. Other birds on the river were a lot of Pigeons, Carrion and Hooded Crows. Also today I saw two White Wagtails. [...... read more ]

Tajikistan. Romit gorge.

2008-10-26 | Askar Isabekov

Today is my this month first birding tour. Day is sunny but windy. In Romit gorge but correctly in its first branch gorge I saw a lot of birds. All the same wild (even comparative wild) nature very distinguishes on city. Today I haven't seen any Mynahs, Sparrows or Laughing Dove, no one bird specific to city. Today's common birds are Eversmann's and Blue-capped Redstarts. Both species number were several tens each, but Eversmann's Redstarts number was a few more. Eversmann's Redstarts were observed mainly in bush, but Blue-capped one were mostly on the border of bushes and honeysuckle field. Redstarts searched as yet abundant insects both in bushes and honeysuckles. From time to time birds drunk the water on one only pool on the road. It's beholding on close distance that at Blue-capped Redstarts males have brownish tips of feathers, therefore birds look some dimmer. Three times I saw Black-breasted Tits, once alone bird, once the pair and once three birds. Tits searched insects on bark [...... read more ]

Tajikistan. Dushanbe, Romit.

2008-10-23 | Askar Isabekov

Even one month I didn't have free time to birdwatching, correctly to special birding tours. On the side being in city I permanently saw Warblers. They are a lot and fed very high in the crowns of high trees (poplars, planes, oaks). It's impossible to observe them because Warblers are very mobile. Such that I can't sure tell what is these Warblers especially allowing that except common Hume's and Greenish Warblers there are other abundant Warblers in Tajikistan for example Plain Leaf-Warbler. Hooded Crows appeared in the city. They are not a lot but I saw two birds. The short trip in the country. I saw Bramblings flying from tree to another. Today there is one only photo shoot but it was photo of rare Golden Eagle. Eagle in beginning soared low in the gorge but further ascended and already didn't alight. [...... read more ]
